Greta Picklesimer is Michigan born and raised by Kentucky transplanted parents. Besides writing, Greta spends time working on her art journal and painting with watercolors and oil pastels. She is owned by one rescue cat by the name of Pearlie Blue who was named after one of her father’s favorite Bluegrass songs. By day, Greta works as an office assistant. By night, she writes.
What genres do you like to read? – Inspirational historical fiction.
Do you have a favorite book or movie? – The Holy Bible.
Which is your favorite mode of writing? Why? – I am a panster. This means I don’t write an outline before starting to write.
What is your primary or favorite genre to write? – Inspirational historical fiction.
Do you have other genres you write for? – None.
Which project is your favorite so far? Why? – My first book is my favorite thus far. It is called Second Chance at Happiness.
How long have you been writing? What does your path look like? – I started writing stories when I was eight or nine years old. I started writing inspirational historical romance in 2016 after reading a poorly written romance. I thought “I could write something this bad.” Thus, I began work on an inspirational historical novella, which won’t ever see the light of day. Since then, I’ve read a lot of craft books, been to seminars and conferences, and honed my writing craft.
Where is your favorite place to write? What kind of atmosphere do you need? Quiet, music, coffee, wine? Any tricks to get in the zone? – I write in front of the TV, which is off, in my living room. I need it quiet in order to think through the story as I am writing. Tricks to get in the zone…open my computer and the novel I’m working on and reread the previous chapter to catch me back up to speed.
What do you do for fun when you’re not writing? – I watch TV. My favorite show is Ghosts. I surf Facebook and read emails too.
